Description

:iconworldtrain:

I don't have any means of making digital art, so I printed this and made it by hand.... I hope it's worthy...

Name: Amy Zepar

Her name is pronounced AH-mee.

Gender: Female. But don't be fooled, she's more masculine than some men!

Age: 20 in ghoul years. Ghouls live approximately 1.5 times longer than humans, so Amy is actually 30.

Birthday: February 27th, on an Earth calendar.

Height:Five feet six inches

Weight: 290lbs.

Species: Ghoul

Now here's where things really get interesting. There are H. P. Lovecraft's ghouls, there are DnD ghouls, and there are Islamic mythology ghouls. These ghouls, the species that Amy belongs to, are a sort of amalgamation of all three. First and foremost, ghouls like Amy are very much alive. They may have many undead-style weaknesses, like being harmed more by weapons that have been specifically enchanted for use against them, being deterred by certain spells, and being slightly weakened by sunlight, but these ghouls are living, sapient beings. Ghouls' bodies appear to be, anatomically, equal parts ape and human. This means longer arms than humans, greater physical strength than humans, but more upright and intelligent than apes. They have skull-like faces, prehensile tails, pointed ears, green to gray skin, and lots of hair.

Birthplace: Khor Zelan, Vassag Kelaz

Personality: Laid back, with a love of all things kickass, Amy is definitely not the first thing you think of when you think of the word "girl". She listens to a lot of metal. Seriously. A lot of metal. She's very interested in learning about other worlds, though, and loves reading about different cultures. She's also pretty smart. She can't stand organized religion, though. Amy is pretty friendly, despite hating all religions. She also loves food. Nom nom nom FOOD.

She's definitely a Diesel car person. And she BELONGS in cabin D6. But if not that one, then D10.

Skills: Shadow magic. An ancient art  passed down through the generations, she learned it from her village elder. She's also very strong.

Weaknesses: Weakened in bright sunlight, specific enchantments and spells can really do damage.

Backstory:

Before we get to Amy, we have to look at the world she comes from. The land of Vassag Kelaz is a neighboring dimension to an alternate Earth. The ghouls of Vassag Kelaz discovered a link to this world one thousand years ago. At first, this alternate Earth was used as a penal colony, where criminals were banished to never return. This gave rise to Islamic legends of large, hairy creatures called ghouls. Since the only ghouls the humans saw were vicious criminals, the word ghoul became synonymous with demon, but this was unknown to the ghouls until much later. But the ghouls of Vassag Kelaz wanted to see if there were other worlds out there. So the finest sorcerers were summoned by the Grand Council, and were charged with finding new worlds. The first few worlds they found fascinated them, but six hundred years after the first hint of interdimensional travel, something went horribly wrong. The ghouls unwittingly let hundreds of thousands of vicious, bloodthirsty creatures called Vrakka-Kal into Vassag Kelaz. The war took a hundred years before the Vrakka-Kal were driven from the world. The ghouls were victorious, but the damage had been done. The Grand Council put strict limits on interdimensional travel.

Now, on to Amy. Amy Zepar was born in a small village called Khor Zelan. All her life, she dreamed of life being like it was before the Vrakka-Kal invasion, where you could travel the worlds freely. But really, one of the most important events in her life, the one that created the Amy we know today, happened when she was very small. She was rejected by the village boys. She was told she couldn't play with them because she was a girl. But that, little Amy thought, could be fixed. For the next few years, Amy posed as male, only stopping at puberty. But that never stopped her from being the opposite of a feminine bimbo.

Amy had always been fascinated by things from other worlds-- history, technology, pop culture, everything.  She wished she could see these things for herself and not just read about them in books. But there was no way someone as young and insignificant as her could get government approval for her ideas. And then she heard of the World Train...

RP sample:

Family gatherings were nothing out of the ordinary. But when the family gathering in question involved Uncle Vual, then Amy was pretty sure it was going to be good.  He was technically her great-uncle, and he lived in city that was once an interdimensional port. He collected what he could of the worlds once so regularly visited by the people passing through the port. He would tell Amy old stories, stories his grandfather used to tell him, back in the days when traveling was easy.

“So your grandfather was actually given a medal?”

“That’s right. He saved  hundreds from the Vrakka-Kal.”

Amy reclined in her chair, thinking.

“Do you think they’re ever gonna open the port again?”

“Oh, no. Not in my lifetime, anyway. But there’s something I want to tell you, Amy. I’ve just gotten word of something… a World Train, they call it. Seems they take passengers from all over, like in the old days. It’s a marvelous thing.”

“And this is real?!”

“Oh, it’s not just real. It’s coming here in a few days.”

Amy grinned. This was her dream. That dream that she’s waited so long for was finally going to come true.

“Where do I sign up?”
